The Brief La PanotiQ is a family-owned bakery and cafe bringing authentic French bread, pastries, and cuisine to San Francisco and Bay area. When La PanotiQ approached us they were in a major time crunch - despite being a few short weeks away from their grand opening they had no final logo, no packaging, and no unifying design concept. They needed the works, and they needed it pronto!
The Solution We started by creating a rectangular logo with proportions based on traditional flour and water ratios found in French baking. Our boxed logo solution was not only conceptually sound - it could also be easily printed on solid-color stickers, allowing for a single color, cost-efficient, and flexible branding application (for instance, to secure to-go packaging).
We further built out their brand with two supplimentary components. First, we created a subtle pattern based on the custom floor tiling in their flagship Campbell store. Second, we highlighted their unique name and spelling by turning their capital Q into a standalone, decorative design element.
